E-recipe for a cozy little heating pad.
For the heating pads in the pictures, numbers 1 and 18 have been used.
The heating pad fits perfectly in the hand or in the pocket on a walk, and nice to warm sore crochet hands with.
It can be used alone or sewn together for a larger heating pad, which can be good for e.g. shoulders or around the neck.
The inner bag is heated in the microwave to make it ready for use
TARGET The heating pad is approx. 15 cm x 8 cm including the crocheted edge.
YOU MUST USE IT
Organic cotton from Krea Deluxe in two optional colors:
25 g for the base color and 10 g for the pattern
Fabric for inner bag approx. 18 x 18 cm
Rice for inner bag approx. 75 g.
Guidance crochet hook No. 3.0
Needle without tip for stapling ends
Scissors
FILL
There are many different options for filling the heating pad; Chickpeas, linseed rice, porridge rice, wheat kernels, cherry stones, dried beans etc.
The large cores keep the heat longer and can be good to use when sewing several heating pads together to make one large pad. The small kernels such as wheat kernels and rice can be an advantage for the small pillows, which should feel soft in the hand when you carry them with you.
IMPORTANT Small children react more sensitively to heat than adults, so be extra careful if the heating pad is used for children.
The bag is removed from the cover before heating, so that only the inner bag is heated. Then put it back in the cover before use.
