The kapok cushion insert from Cocoon is an incredibly luxurious pillow made from vegan, organic, natural and hypoallergenic materials.
The kapok cushion is filled with 100% organic, untreated kapok and covered with certified organic cotton. No pesticides, chemicals or synthetic fibres are used in the processing or production of the cushion.
We use this cushion for our Advent Calendar 2025 and all canvas cushions from Broderisten.

Kapok fibre contains 80% air, which makes this natural fibre exceptionally breathable and tempature regulating.
ANTIBACTERIAL & HYPOALLERGENIC
Kapok contains a natural bitter substance that makes the fibre resistant to bacteria and dust mites.
WHAT IS KAPOK?
Kapok is an organic fibre sourced from the kapok tree, which grows wild in some of the world's densest tropical rainforests. The lightness of kapok fibre makes the cushion excellent at regulating heat. The fibre does not absorb sweat from the body in a way that makes the cushion damp. Instead, the kapok fibre transports moisture through the cushion and away from the body. This means a kapok pillow stays dry and comfortable throughout the night.
Since kapok fibre does not absorb moisture from the body, dust mites cannot live in it, as they require a moist environment to survive. A kapok cushion is therefore an excellent choice for people with dust mit allergies. Because dust mites can cause allergies in children, a kapok pillow can be a great choice as a child's first pillow. Kapok fibre also contains a natural bitter substance that makes it resistant to other mites as well.
