We invite you to join KREA DELUXE CAL 2026 - The coziest crochet community of the summer, if you ask us.
Throughout the summer, we will each crochet the CAL project step by step. Along the way, we will share inspiration, tips, videos and guidance on Facebook and Instagram, so you can enjoy the process and succesfully complete your project - whether you are an experienced crocheter or simply love a cozy summer project.
THIS YEAR'S PROJECT
This year's CAL project is a beautiful patchwork bag made from crocheted squares with diagnal color changes, creating an elegant and classic patchwork pattern. The pattern includes 2 diffferent versions of the bag, allowing you to choose the style that suits you best:
BASIC Patchwork Bag
A simple and stylish tote bag version without depth in the sides of the bag. It is crocheted in 2 colors and includes 3 pattern options in the pattern.
DELUXE patchworktaske
This version includes depth in the sides of the bag, making it a more spacious version of the BASIC bag. It is crocheted in 4 colors and includes 9 pattern options - including the 3 pattern options from the BASIC bag.
As an extra summer bonus, the pattern also includes a bonus pattern for all your leftover yarn.

How it works
The CAL is designed as a cozy summer project, with the pattern released in 3 different parts.
The finished bag will only be fully releaved in the final part of the pattern - but the photos on this page can already give you an idea of what we will be crocheting together.
Pattern release dates:
May 22 - Part 1 is released
In this part, you will choose your pattern and crochet the bag squares.
June 19 - Part 2 is released
In this part, the bag begins to take shape as the squares are joined together.
July 3 - Part 3 is released
In the final part, the handles are crocheted and the bag is completed.
This part of the pattern also includes the bonus pattern for the leftover yarn project.
Can I get the pattern parts earlier if I am a super fast croceter?
You will need to be patioent and let your crochet hook rest until the next part is released. Instead, you can use the time to was and block your squares so the final result looks beautifully crisp.
Can I join if I am not a super fast crocheter?
Absolutely. It does not matter at all if you are not finished before the next pattern release. The CAL is not about finishing first - it is about the coziness, the process and the joy of creating something with your hands together with other crochet-loving people.
Simply crochet at your own pace - the pattern will be waiting for you.

HOW DO I JOIN?
Choose KIT or pattern
BASIC KIT
With this kit, you will receive yarn for a Basic patchwork bag crocheted in 2 colors. You can choose between 3 different patterns.
Order your kit and be ready to crochet along from May 22, when the first part of the pattern is released.
DELUXE KIT
With this kit, you will recieve yarn for one DELUXE patchwork bag crocheted in 4 colors. You can choose between 9 different patterns - the kit also includes yarn for the bonus pattern project.
Pssst... If you order the DELUXE KIT before July 3, you will receive a free zipper for the pattern's bonus project.
DIGITAL PATTERN
If you already have yarn in your stash, you can purchase the digital pattern without yarn from May 22.
The release dates for the pattern parts also apply when purchasing the pattern only.
